Brands
We repair all major brands
Brand names and logos are trademarks of their respective owners. Smart Appliance Service is an independent repair service and is not affiliated with or authorized by these manufacturers.
Same-day when you call early
Call in the morning and we can often be at your door that day. If not, you get a clear morning, afternoon or evening window, not a vague promise.
Repaired on site
Fridges, washers, dryers, dishwashers, ovens and stoves are fixed where they stand, at home or in your business. Nothing gets hauled off to a shop.
A clear quote before any work
We diagnose the fault, tell you what the repair will cost and wait for your yes. Nothing starts until you agree.
Evenings and Sundays
Open 7 am to 9 pm Monday to Friday and on Sundays, with Saturdays by appointment, so a repair does not cost you a day off work.
Repair first, replace only when it makes sense
If a repair is worth doing, we do it. If your appliance is near the end of its life, we say so plainly and explain why.
Ottawa's east, west and south
From Orléans to Kanata and down to Barrhaven, with Nepean and the central neighbourhoods in between. Rated on Google, HomeStars, Yelp and Facebook.

Repair or replace?
A rule of thumb we use with every customer. We will tell you honestly which side of it you are on.
Repair it
When the appliance is under about half its expected life and the repair costs less than half the price of a new one. Most washers, dryers and dishwashers fall here.
Think about replacing
When it is past about two thirds of its life and the repair is more than half the price of a new one, or the same fault keeps coming back.

Questions
Frequently asked questions
Same-day appointments are often available, especially if you call in the morning. Otherwise we offer the next morning, afternoon or evening window that suits you. We work Monday to Friday and Sundays from 7 am to 9 pm, and Saturdays by appointment.
We work on all major household brands. Tell us the make and model when you book, along with any error code on the display, so the technician arrives prepared.
Often, yes. If the appliance is under about half its expected life and the repair costs less than half the price of a new one, repair is usually the better buy. Past that, we will tell you plainly if replacing makes more sense.
No. Every repair happens on site, in the kitchen, laundry room or back of house where the appliance sits. Built-in dishwashers, wall ovens, stacked laundry units and commercial coolers are all handled in place.
Ottawa, Nepean, Kanata, Orléans and Barrhaven, along with the communities around them. If you are just outside those, call and ask. We can usually fit you in.
Note the model number from the label inside the door or behind the kick plate, and any error code the appliance shows. Clear a path to the appliance and, for a washer or dishwasher, leave the water turned on so we can run a test cycle.
Yes. Restaurants, cafés, offices, salons, daycares and shared laundry rooms in condo and apartment buildings are regular calls. We repair the same kinds of appliances on site and can book around your opening hours. Walk-in coolers and ice machines are specialist work, and we will say so rather than guess.
No. We specialize in electric appliances only: electric dryers, ranges, ovens and cooktops, along with fridges, freezers, washers and dishwashers. A gas dryer, range or oven needs a licensed gas technician, and we will tell you so straight away rather than book a visit that cannot help.
